Like any card game, Hold em begins as the dealer shuffles and deals a deck. Usually, in casinos, the dealer is an employee who is not allowed to play.
For games of a more personal and intimate nature, a player is delegated the role of dealer and a round disc – called a “dealer button” with “dealer” or “d” on it – moves clockwise from one player to another after each hand.
The button signifies who the dealer is and where the dealing originates from. This button makes whole process of gaming more defined as it always show who the dealer is on every hand played.

With Texas Hold Em, the two players left of the dealer (the button) must place a predetermined amount to the pot before the cards are dealt. This is action is known as posting the blinds.
Often, the “first blind” is the player sitting on the left of the dealer who puts up half of the minimum bet while the “second blind” puts up the full minimum bet. Each player is then dealt with two cards, face down. These are known as the “hole / individual / pocket cards.”
A round of betting then occurs, starting with the player to the left of those who posted blinds. Players can opt to call, raise, or fold when it’s their turn to bet.

Once the first betting round of Texas Hold em is complete, the dealer discards the first card from the top of the deck. This action is called burning the card and is being done to make sure that no one cheats.
Then, the dealer then deals three cards face up on the table. These cards are called the “flop.”
A total of five community / shared / board cards will eventually be placed face up on the table. Players need to use any combination of these cards and with their own hole cards to create the strongest possible five-card hand.
After the flop, a new betting round takes place, and this starts from the player to the dealer’s left. As usual, players may choose to check, call, raise, or fold.
Texas Hold Em Learn To Play – How To Master The End Parts Of The Game
The dealer burns one more card and places another one face up onto the table. This fourth community card is called the “turn” or “Fourth Street.” Another round of betting begins and the once again burns another card before placing the final community card face-up on the table. This last card is called the “river” otherwise known as “Fifth Street.”
Texas Hold em players can now use any combination of the cards – either the five community cards on the table or the two hole cards they hold – to make the best possible poker hand.
Once the final or last betting round is done, all players who remain active in the game – meaning, those who have not folded – reveal their hands.
