Straight – these are five consecutive cards of mixed suits. Aces can be low (A2345) or high (10JQKA)

Flush – these are five cards of the same suit that are not in any order

Full House – this consists of a pair and three of a kind Ex. JJJ99

Four of a Kind – these are four cards of the same rank plus a kicker or side card

Straight Flush – these are five cards in succession and of the same suit

Royal Flush – this is the unbeatable card and contains five cards in order and of the same suit from A to T.
