In this Holdem lesson I’m going to discuss a few tricky plays you can use over and over to constantly profit from any table you play at. The first play that works a treat is solid, strong, tight aggressive play. This involves being quite picky about the hole cards you play, always playing from strong positive and very rarely playing from early seats, and then betting aggressive and consistently until your opponents fold or you win.
The reason this play works is because you insure yourself against bad beats by playing strong cards, you cover any weaknesses with aggressive play, you force bad odds and bad position on your opponents, and by just stacking all these odds in your favor you come out ahead more often than not.

Another play that works very well is performing blind steals. This involves watching all the player at the table. When pre-flop, and no player contests the pot – so they all fold or just limp in – from the cutoff or late position you make a large bet, something like five times the big blind. More often than not everyone will fold and you’ll clean up the pot.

A really great play you can also make is to come over the top of another play pre-flop. This works most effectively when you identify their play style and habits and have a good idea their pockets aren’t too strong. For example, say someone tries to steal the blinds when you are in them. You can come over the top of that person and he will most likely back down because he isn’t really that strong, and perceives you as being super strong.
