No Limit Hold Em Lesson – 1st Insanely Powerful Card To Play

My favourite cards to play are small and medium pocket pairs. If I get any sort of pocket pair I am so happy. This is because I will hit a set on the flop one in every eight times. That means the more flops I see with pockets, the more chances I have to land a set.

Small and medium pocket pairs are often avoided by tight players, but even though I usually play a strong tight game I still play these. This is because they have massive implied odds. If you play pocket fours and land a set on the flop, you are a shoe-in to win and practically no one will see it coming.

Another of my favorite hands to play are suited connectors. Now there is debate whether it’s worth playing low or middle suited connectors and I would agree, you have to be a little picky with which ones you play. Usually my position and the players I’m against will determine how low I go.

These however are great if you land a straight or flush on the flop or a solid draw (more common). Just make sure you know yours odds properly and play to them. But these powerful cards are definitely a viable option to get in pots and win more cash easily.

The third of the powerful cards is less powerful than the first two put still good if you know how to play them right. They are gappers. These are cards like 7-9 or 10-Q. They have a gap in the middle. Although they aren’t as viable to get straights they can still do it well. And the best part is when you land a straight with a gapper no one will ever even notice. That’s because the straight possibility isn’t as obvious.
