Texas Holdem Mistakes – 3 Mistakes Everyone Always Makes

Are you struggling to succeed playing Texas Holdem? You are probably making one of these Texas Holdem mistakes.

Texas Holdem can be easy to play and hard to play. You can make a lot of money or lost a lot of money. Really, it all comes down to you. How good a player are you? How committed are you to succeeding?

If you are reading this you probably care about how well you do and how much money you win. You most likely want to improve your game and are interested in learning how to do so, which is great.

Texas Holdem Mistakes That Everyone Makes #1

Everyone has made this one. It is playing past the flop without anything. And I mean nothing, nada, zilch. I have done this before and looking back I don’t know. It seems stupid from a logical point of view but we all do it sooner or later.

The reason is a deep seeded emotional drive that doesn’t want us to lose the money we have already put in the pot. It thinks that as long as we are in the pot we have a chance of winning it so doesn’t want us to fold. It is important to overcome to stupid drive and prevent yourself from playing past the flop, and putting more money in the pot, if you don’t have anything good.

Texas Holdem Mistakes That Everyone Makes #2

Another mistake we all make, which is similar to the first but different enough, is chasing a draw. It’s fine to have hole cards, see the flop and be going for a draw, but what is not fine is when the pot odds and probability don’t match up for it to be profitable.

Playing draw cards can pay off big time when you hit. However, if you are losing too much money trying to play these draws then it isn’t worth it. Always make sure you know your probability of hitting your draw and analyze the pot and calculate the pot odds to make sure you are paying too much for the privilege.

Texas Holdem Mistakes That Everyone Makes #3

The third mistake everyone always makes, usually at the beginning of their Holdem career, is they bet different amounts before the flop depending on how good their hole cards are. That is, they limp in with weak cards and bet big with strong cards.

This is the biggest and worst type of tell. You are practically screaming to the table the strength of your cards. Avoid this if you are doing it.

Now, think about a time when you have made one of these mistakes, and imagine how you would have done if you didn’t make the mistake. I want you to realize how powerful it is to learn about the mistakes you are making and then eradicate them from your game, making you such a better player. What you need to do next is go out and find more mistakes you are possible making and then remove them from you game, and you will become a lot more successful very fast.
