Discover These Texas Hold Em Poker Rules And Hands Now To Kick-Start Your Poker Success With Ease

The Texas Hold Em Poker Rules and hands in rank are very easy to learn. Today I’m going to over all the basic poker rules on how to play this fabulous game, plus which hands are better than which.

The Texas Hold Em Poker Rules Of How The Cards Are Dealt And Player

First, we’ll start with the cards. Of course Hold Em Poker is played with a standard 52 card deck. The cards are dealt by a dealer who can be an employee of the casino or a computer program if you are playing online. If you’re playing Texas Hold Em at home, it can be anyone.

Two cards are dealt to each player. These are the hole cards or pocket cards which only that player gets to use for himself. Hole cards are always kept secret and hidden from the other players.

Now, we’ll skip ahead by just only talking about the cards. So, every time community cards are dealt a burn card is burned. This means the top card of the deck is discarded, and this is done to prevent cheating.

After the first burn card, three community cards are dealt face up in the middle of the table. These three community cards can be used by anyone – all players. What the players have to do is combine their own two hole cards with the community cards in order to get the best possible ranked poker hand.

Skipping ahead again, another burn card is burnt and one more community card is dealt. So now the players have their own two hole cards plus four community cards in order to make their best five card poker hand. And they can use any five cards.

Later, another burn card is burnt and another community card is dealt. So finally there are a total of five community cards the players can use to accompany their own two hole cards in order to make their best poker hand.

The Texas Hold Em Poker Rules Of The Betting And Betting Rounds

So, of course poker is going to involve betting. There are a few main bets or actions that can occur. That is, each player can either fold, check, call, raise or re-raise.

  • Folding is when the player discards their hole cards and chooses not to play anymore.
  • Checking is the player chooses not to bet but still wants to be in the game.
  • Calling is when someone else raises and you decide you want to match their bet.
  • Raising is when you want to increase the bet made.
  • Re-raising is when someone else raises and instead of calling them you raise them again.

Each betting round occurs in between deals. So remember the first deal is two hole cards to everyone – then a betting round occurs.

The second deal is the first three community cards – then a betting round occurs.

Then one more community card is dealt and another betting round occurs.

Then the last or fifth community card is dealt and a final betting round occurs.

The Texas Hold Em Poker Rules Of The Hands And Poker Hand Rankings

Really, when it comes down to it, the standard poker hand rankings depict who wins. These are made up of five cards. That is, the best five cards a player can make from his two hole cards and the five community cards.

The best hand you can have is a Royal Flush, then a Straight Flush, then a Four of a Kind, then a Full House, then a Three of a Kind, then a Two Pair, then a normal Pair and finally just a high card otherwise known as nothing.

It’s important to understand these hand rankings to know who wins. Remember, in the Texas Hold Em Poker Em rules your best five cards is your hand. It can be your two hole cards plus three community cards, or one hole card with four community cards, or even just the five community cards.

But beware, if your best hand is the five community cards, well, everyone else has that too!

These are the basic Texas Hold Em Poker rules and hands you need to know to play. There are some more very advanced rules which haven’t been discussed, but for the most part you will not need to know these.
