All The Texas Hold Em Rules In An Easy To Understand way
Hold Em is a form of poker that is fast becoming popular today. It is a game of logic and calculation. All the Hold Em rules are simple but familiarity with the jargon is a must.
You can slowly familiarize yourself as we go through the rules. In Hold Em, each player is dealt a personal, incomplete hand. These two cards are known as the hole cards. These hole/pocket cards are dealt face down.
If the dealer made a mistake and accidentally showed the cards that would mean that the dealer would have to cut and deal all the cards all over again.
Community cards – also known as window, board or shared cards – are cards that are shared among all players. This means that any of the players can combine these cards with their hand.
These community cards are always dealt face up. The objective of Hold Em Poker is to combine any of the your hole cards and the shared community cards to get the best five card combination.
The Basic Hold Em Rules Of How The Game Unfolds
First, each player is given his personal hand which consists of two hole cards. The first round of betting follows.
After this, three community cards – collectively called the flop – are dealt face up in on the table. This is then followed by a second round of betting.
A fourth community card – the turn – comes next which is followed by a third betting round. Finally, the last and fifth community card, called ‘the river’ is dealt followed by the final betting round.
Poker concludes with the showdown wherein the players show their best hand which can consist of one of their hole cards and 4 community cards, or both their hole cards with three community cards.
It is important to note that the community cards are dealt only after a card is burned. A burn card is a card that is taken from the top of the deck and is ‘discarded’ or excluded from the game.
This was put into the Hold Em rules to prevent cheating and ensure that cards aren’t slipped in to the top of the deck.
How To Memorize These Forever – Step By Step
There are a few different ways to memorize the rules forever. I’m going to share with you the easiest and fastest method. This method is comprised of an advanced visualization technique. You will actually create new neural pathways and memory proteins in your brain so that this information is stored in long term memory.
Read these instructions through, and then do the exercise now!
Step 1 – Go to a quite place. Turn off music. Remove distractions. Sit in a comfortable position. Uncross arms and legs. Close your eyes.
Step 2 – Visualize and see a poker table. Imagine you are sitting at the poker table. See the dealer, the deck of cards, the chips in front of you. With your mind’s eye imagine the other players at the table.
Step 3 – Now watch as you see two players left to the dealer post their blinds. Now see the dealer deal two cards to every player.
Step 4 – Watch as the players before you think about how to bet and what bet they will make. Watch as they slide their chips into the pot. Now it’s your turn. What move are you going to make? What move can you make? Think about if you are allowed to check, or call, or how much you can raise.
Step 5 – See the dealer take a card from the top of the deck and burn it, and then watch as he deals the flop. Now imagine the other players repeating their betting moves, it becoming your turn, and again think about what move you are allowed to make.
Step 6 – Repeat steps 4 and 5 for another 2 rounds.
Step 7 – After the last betting round, see the players turning over their cards. Look at their cards. Think about the cards they have and how strong they are and who has the best hand. Decide who wins.
Step 8 – Repeat this process of visualization 3 – 5 times until you are very comfortable with how the game plays out. This will actually form new memories in your brain. This is 100 times more effective then just reading this article, so make sure you do this exercise.
