If you already know your basic poker, then Texas Hold Em Poker will not be difficult to play. Texas Hold Em is one of the more popular poker varieties because of the simplicity of its rules.

Unlike regular or old fashioned poker, the game starts off with all players getting two cards instead of five. Bets are placed after this and community cards are dealt.

After giving the individual hole cards to all of the players , three community cards or flops are drawn after which one card is turned over after another. The fourth community card is called the turn while the last is called the river. Bets in the meantime are made between intervals.

The main Texas Hold Em Poker Rule is to make the best possible five card combination out of the two hole cards and the five community cards. Before every flop, turn or river is dealt, burn cards are discarded to ensure that cheating has not been done.

Hole cards must always be dealt face down. If this does not happen, a misdeal is called and the cards are reshuffled. If hole cards are made out because of the dealer, a re-deal will be done; if the mistake was on the player’s part however, the game must continue.

Flop cards must always contain three community cards. An excess of this will be returned to the deck. If the turn is dealt before the bets are placed, this card must be excluded from the game. The dealer then proceeds to the next card, which would have been the river.

After this round, the dealer reshuffles and directly draws the fifth card, using the earlier discarded one as the burn card for the last round.

If the dealer mistakenly gives more than two hole cards, the extra card will be returned to the deck and used as a burn card. If there is more than one extra card, a misdeal will be called and the dealer will have to re-deal the cards once more.
