Tight Aggressive NL Holdem Poker Mistake #1

The first mistake players often make is they freak out and get scared and change up their strategy mid game. Maybe they aren’t comfortable always raising out so start checking, or they start playing the few hands that are right on the border of success-fulness, playing just a little too loose.

Whatever is it, if you start veering off the original strategy you will start losing money fast.

The second mistake most players make is they don’t actually define the strategy to begin with. That is, they don’t know specifically what cards they have to play, how much to bet, how to react to raises and which hands to play through or fold.

You can find a strategy in a book online and use someone else s, like the one I share around, or create your own. Either way, you need to literally write down how you are going to play. Or how else can you know if you are following it or not.

The third mistake is a little one yet very insidious. It is not playing at the correct level for your bankroll. You need to have enough bankroll to support the ups and more importantly downs of you play.

It’s not that you are going to lose much playing TAG (because it is a very low risk strategy) however when you don’t have enough bankroll you get more scared more easily and you are likely to make the first mistake – veering off course.
