Post-flop play is extremely important to your overall success at Holdem. Without a strong post-flop game you will never be able to get profitable.

Sure, you can possibly succeed without mastering this area of Holdem but you will have a very hard time doing so. Don’t worry because I have put together my top tricks to easily succeed at this particular point in the game.

Texas Holdem Tricks To Improve Your Post-Flop Game # 1

The number one trick is to first and foremost analyze and play the pot to your real chances of winning. This is easier said than done, so I’ll give you some advice:

  • Determine what the best possible hand is – the nuts.
  • Think about what other great hands your opponents are likely to have, such as sets or two pairs.
  • Think about what your hand is and what is the best possible hand you can make (if you get perfect cards by the river).
  • Once you have all that, you’ll have a much better indication of where you stand.

The Next Trick To Improve Your Post-Flop Game # 2

A cool trick I often use to land a very good hand is I play small pairs and then see the flop. If you do not hit a set then just fold. Please do not go running after the turn and river! This is very simple but very powerful.

Another Trick To Improve How You Play After The Flop # 3

Middle suited connectors are often good cards to play from the hole. How you read these post-flop is that you must have either hit a straight draw or flush draw. Both would be great, but unlikely.

You need at least four cards of a straight or four cards of the flush from the flop or you should fold. Sometimes you hit all five on the flop, but not often. Having four is a good enough position to continue playing but three is not enough.

More often than not firing another shot post-flop is often very useful. If you are targeting a draw, instead of just checking fire off another bet!

Sometimes your opponents bite and when you get your card you win much more. If not, well, you win the pot.

The Last Point On How To Easily Win Post-Flop # 5

This last point is not so much a trick but a tip. You really need to be fitting or folding on the flop. This is especially true the earlier position you are playing from.

Imagine yourself using these Texas Holdem tricks the next time you come up to a big hairy flop. Think about how helpful these tricks have been for you and how you can use them to win more pots and make more money.
